Know Your Innovative Self
The Berkeley Innovation Index (BII) is an open research project created at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & technology (SCET). In cooperation with industry professionals, BII has been developed to offer simple yet powerful ways to measure something never before measurable: An individual’s innovative mindset level, by relating it to seven traits linked to individual innovation capability.MORE ABOUT SCETLEARN ABOUT BIIIndividual Innovation Mindset Report   As the horizontal line shows, your Personal Innovation Mindset Level is currently   63 OUT OF 100.

This is not a fixed level, anyone can grow their innovation mindset.  Your BII level has been estimated using computational item response theory, based on the Berkeley Method for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, the Comfort Zone Scale, and fundamental testing methods in the field Psychology and Social Psychology.Analysis and Recommendations  INNOVATION MINDSET ANALYSIS: The following is the analysis of your innovation mindset. To learn more about each component, here is the link.

  • Trust is 54.67 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores sometimes have a hard time allowing people to make decisions, involving others to seek their input, and support those around them to learn new skills. They are often skeptical about others’ intentions and commitments that they are less willing to participate, collaborate, and ultimately innovate.
  • Resilience is 60 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores sometimes have a hard time accepting failure while simultaneously letting go of the outcomes. They struggle to understand that failure is not a permanent condition.
  • Diversity is 70 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores find it easy communicating and working with people who are diverse and different from themselves.
  • Belief is 72.67 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores find that it is often easy to believe that one has the power to influence one’s functioning and life circumstances.
  • Perfection is 60 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores sometimes struggle to successfully look outside of their current challenges to find suitable resources.
  • Collaboration is 60 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores sometimes have a hard time encouraging, supporting their team/group members, and fostering cooperation to stimulate team/group participation.
  • Comfort Zone is 46.67 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores find that once in a while, they have difficulty abandoning the old ways to develop new ways of working.
  • Innovation Zone is 80 OUT OF 100. People with similar scores find it easy being purposeful, diligent, and creative to generate novel and useful ideas. They focus their efforts on autonomy, independence, and self-confidence to develop innovative ideas.

RECOMMENDATIONS: The following is the recommendation for your trust, resilience and diversity trait based on your score. To get more recommendations, here is the link.

  • You are average in Trust. To continue to improve, invest in your emotional bank account. Every time you do something, predictable, people around, you will learn to trust you back. This is what is called an “emotional deposit.”
  • You are average in Resilience. To continue to improve, take decisive actions rather than detaching completely from problems and stresses and wishing they would go away.
  • You are high in Diversity. Since you know how to consider a variety of perspectives, attitudes, opinions, and beliefs, continue to improve this by hearing ‘ideas’ that differ from your own. By doing so, your peers will be able to mimic your behaviors and admire your abilities.
